We also offer training on a variety of topics, including leadership development and work with clients to develop bespoke training packages. Capable of operating at a political, strategic or practical level and equally comfortable dealing with senior officials and junior staff we pride ourselves on our approachability and down to earth approach to problem solving. We have extensive experience in both the UK and overseas and are comfortable working alone, or in partnership with high quality colleagues.

About Nick Hawkins 

Nick has forty years’ experience as a naval officer, barrister and senior public sector leader. 
After serving at sea in the Far East, Falkland Islands, the Caribbean, the Gulf and North Atlantic, he qualified as a barrister and served as Legal Adviser to a number of Admirals. His final appointment in the rank of Commander was as the first independent Naval Prosecuting Authority. 
 
In a 15 year career in the Crown Prosecution Service, he was Chief Crown Prosecutor for Wiltshire, Hampshire and Wessex before leading CPS Direct, the Charging Service. During this time, he regularly appeared in all courts personally, prosecuting cases from murder to motoring offences. He was the CPS national lead on sports matters, maritime matters and investigative interviewing, also providing prosecution input to the Senior Investigating Officers course at the College of Policing. 
He represented the Director of Public Prosecutions at a number of international conferences and deployed in support of the English police delegation at two football world cups. 
 
His final appointments were as Chief Operating Officer at the Independent Police Complaints Commission and as Chief Executive of the Legal Ombudsman. As well as gaining further expertise in complaints, professional discipline and regulation, he worked closely with senior officials in the Home Office, Ministry of Justice and Cabinet Office. 
As well as consultancy, Nick is a member of Normanton Chambers. He is a Legally Qualified Chair of Police Misconduct Hearings and a member of the Regulatory Tribunal of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is a former Visiting Professor in the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies at the University of Portsmouth and regularly delivers seminars at universities on a variety of topics. 
 
He studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Lincoln College, Oxford whilst serving in the Royal Navy. He has recently completed a Masters in Law (LLM) in Sports Law and Practice at De Montford University, being awarded a Distinction.
