Case study - Turkey Ministry of Justice
Current examples include working with the Turkish Ministry of Justice as Project Leader in a two year project to improve the quality of auxiliary staff in the court system, through analysis and redesign of job roles and improved pre and in-service training.
Case study - Turkey Human Rights Legislation
Nick has provided the prosecutorial and human rights perspective to a project concluding in May 2019, designed to promote the rule of law and fundamental rights through facilitating lawful and peaceful assembly in Turkey. This has involved analysing caselaw across Europe, analysing and proposing potential amendments to Turkish legislations and presenting to training courses and conferences to senior officials.
Case study - Criminal Justice System in Kosovo
Nick was also recently part of a four-man multi-disciplinary team evaluating the capability of the Serious Crimes Divisions of the provincial Basic Courts in Kosovo, as part of a wider British Embassy sponsored review of the criminal justice system. After an intensive two month tour of seven courts across Kosovo, the team produced a comprehensive report which has been well received by the Embassy, and is likely to lead to further work with senior judges and prosecutors in Kosovo.
